Fairwold Academy at PHMC

Behavioral and mental health in youth is often an overlooked, long-term challenge. We aimed to simplify and add color to this gray, stigmatized reality. Fairwold Academy at PHMC provides high-quality academics within a therapeutic framework. This branded video content series showcases the academy as a premier academic and behavioral programming provider for students ages 5 to 21 with emotional disturbance, behavioral health disorders, and other health impairments. This project highlights the empowerment Fairwold students develop to lead productive, fulfilling lives. Focusing on the positive aspects of Fairwold, we produced seven branded social and web video assets featuring the school's initiative on each student's personal growth and academic achievement. We also delivered photography assets.

This branded video content project was a testament to the collaborative spirit between us and PHMC's communications team. Together, we strategized concepts and provided creative direction that mirrored the school's holistic academic approach. During pre-production, our shared goal was to ensure that messaging would align with the school's mission. We interviewed five key staff members during the two days of on-site production. We also gathered b-roll of the school's interior and exterior spaces, specifically focusing on the school's unique programs. To showcase the school's natural sense of community, we featured students and teachers engaging in their classrooms. Considering the set design, our creative direction was to develop the concept of using a light blue box in the frame. This box, reflective of the school's colors, conveys that students at Fairwold are encouraged to reach beyond and discover their full potential. Their possibilities and dreams are endless.

During post-production, decisions regarding storyline progression, color-grading, pace, music, and visual effects reflected the initial pre-production strategizing. The overarching theme established a safe, nurturing school environment for students from all walks of life. With an emphasis on family, community, and school district involvement, this documentary-styled project spotlighted Fairwold as a supportive component in students' lives, preparing them for their futures. Fairwold Academy's holistic, team-driven approach was successfully apparent through this series. This branded video content social campaign resulted in broad community and social recognition of Fairwold Academy's efforts and achievements. The final assets are available to watch on Fairwold Academy and PHMC's social media platforms, further amplifying the academy's reach and impact.
