Our client, Country Inn & Suites, sought to create inserts for the 2024 Choice Hotels Convention. We delivered two featured videos for the brand session presentation. We oversaw all pre-production, production, and post-production efforts. Our production goal was to highlight the qualities Country Inn & Suites brings to current and future owners, guests, and staff across the country.
Our challenge was to produce a project that would evoke a sense of pride in the Country brand's success. We aimed to produce credible, fresh videos with attention to detail and quality. To achieve this, we collaborated with the Country brand management team. We decided that the first video would feature a successful Country hotel. Considering hotels nationwide, we narrowed the featured location to Marion, Illinois. This location was a strategic choice because the Marion Country Inn & Suites is top-performing, and the family-oriented backstory spoke to the brand's commitment to generational impact. To tell this story accurately, we scheduled pre-production calls with the interview subjects and drafted questions based on these initial discovery calls. Our team traveled to Illinois and, in one full production day, completed four interviews and shot onsite interior and exterior b-roll, off-site landscape b-roll, and drone. Onsite talent coaching, set design, and production management guaranteed a successful shoot day. The editing stage was quick and efficient, considering that the turnaround time for this video was less than five days.
We wanted to produce a candid-style feature for the second video that would be light-hearted yet still align with brand messaging. We developed the idea of having Choice executives read guest reviews. This concept provided comedic relief for the convention presentation but stayed committed to the project theme of pride in the brand. Our team traveled to Choice Hotels headquarters in Rockville, Maryland. We designed the set and helped the Country brand team select the best guest reviews to feature. Then, based on a tight schedule, we filmed ten executives reading reviews. We printed cards with the Country logo and colors to add another layer of branding to the video. The turnaround for this video was four days. Overall, both videos complemented the Country brand session, successfully sharing a collective sense of pride in the brand with the attending audience.
